In addition to publishing and filmmaking, Amaurea is also involved in a number of other creative projects:
Commodities of Empire: A British Academy Research Project, currently based at the University of Birmingham’s Centre for Modern and Contemporary History, in collaboration with the University of London’s Centre for Latin American and Caribbean Studies. Co-founded in 2007 by Amaurea’s Jonathan Curry-Machado, this international history project explores the networks through which particular commodities circulated both within and in the spaces between empires, giving particular attention to the local processes originating in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
The British Coast: Amaurea’s resident editor and designer, Albarrojo, has embarked on an ambitious long-term project to walk the entire British coast, documenting it photographically.
